Most frequent question that we get from people who don’t ride bikes but would like to start is what bike brand is good for someone who is just now starting out. We’ve had a lot of experience with bikes so we think we can give people a good advice on what the best bicycle is out there.
Good bicycle brand for newcomers – Campagnolo
Getting into cycling isn’t that complicated a process as some people might think. You don’t have to own a killer bike and wear an outfit like you’ve just won Tour De France. On the contrary, you can start riding a bike with any old bike and your old t-shirt and sweat pants. As long as you’re clean, presentable, and you don’t plan on going down hill in 50° weather.
Once you start taking your cycling to the next level, 10 miles per day minimum, every day, you can start looking into purchasing a slightly better gear. Today we’re going to focus on bikes, and the brand that I recommend to most people is Campagnolo. A lot of more experienced cyclists will say that you have to go with a Shimano, but I think that Shimano is overkill for someone who is just getting started. You might give up on cycling later on, and it doesn’t make sense to spend the extra money on a decent Shimano bicycle. Campagnolo on the other hand has great models, at affordable prices. You can always upgrade to something better later on, if you end up needing an upgrade. Stay safe.
